The Crown Metropol is bold, distinctive and aesthetically appealing with the promise of personal gratification and enhancement. As you enter the lobby, the personality of the hotel resonates – from the giant Timber balls to the Ribbon Staircase…it is beguiling, tactile, inviting and warm.

The younger sibling of Crown Towers and Crown Promenade, Crown Metropol was designed by Bates Smart and opened its doors in 2010.

The sleek and sexy Crown Metropol is an architectural feat for Melbourne’s landscape. With 658 rooms it is Australia’s largest hotel, yet the wave-shape design of the building cleverly creates a boutique hotel feel, redefining contemporary luxury.

Location:

Located on the corner of Whiteman and Clarendon Streets in Southbank, Metropol is a ten-minute walk to the Melbourne CBD and is joined to the wider Crown Resorts via a sky bridge.

Design:

No matter which room you choose at Crown Metropol you can expect high-tech urban glamour meets functionality with a bold yet quietly distinctive use of design. Sleek, white interiors are contrasted by use of metal, wood and stone, warm orange-hued earth toned carpetting, black oak panelling and a black feature wall that dominates each sumptuous bedroom. European mid-century inspired mod furnishings, art and fittings are complemented with textured fabric sliding screens used to separate the ensuite and stone and bevelled glass bathroom.
